The Moscow Symphony Orchestra

"The Moscow Symphony Orchestra is developing its own characteristically Russian sound, rich and soulful".
International Herald Tribune, July 31, 2001

1989 was a momentous year in Russia, and gave an auspicious start to the MSO - the only independent orchestra in Russia. Since its foundation, the orchestra has been privileged to work under that baton of well-known conductors including Antonio Almeida (1993 to 1997), as well as I. Golovtchin, A. Kats and D. Iablonsky. Since 1997, Vladimir Ziva has acted as Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the MSO. Under Maestro Ziva a great range of music and styles have been included in the MSO's repertoire from a Glazunov series to collections devoted to American film classics.
