On September 25th 2007, The Grand Hall of The Moscow Conservatory

MOSCOW SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA presents its first concert in the season 2007/2008. It takes place in the Grand Hall of Moscow Conservatory. Vladimir Ziva, Artist Director and Chief Conductor of the Orchestra, will be the conductor of this concert. The program of the concert consists of such amazing and famous compositions as Petrouchka by STRAVINSKY, Concerto No 1 for Violin and Orchestra by PROKOFIEV, Symphony No 2 by BORODIN. The soloist is brilliant violinist Alena Baeva, one of the most powerful talents of her generation.

MOSCOW SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA – today is one of the leading capital orchestras. The Moscow Symphony Orchestra is the first independent orchestra in Russia established with private resources and free of state support, was founded in 1989. Since the very beginning the orchestra became an active participant of the Moscow musical life, it has performed under famous Russian and foreign conductors and with many outstanding soloists. Since 1996 under the general sponsorship of “Nestle” the MSO performs annually a series of concerts in the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory. The main achievement during the past years is that the MSO has acquired its own audience due to the high professionalism and a very interesting repertoire.

Alena Baeva started an international career at the age of 10 with a concert at the renewed International festival in Tours, France. When she was 12, she won the First Prize and special Virtuoso Prize at the VII International competition in Kloster-Schontal (Germany). She is invited to take part in many international festivals including “The stars in Kremlin” and others in Russia, the Festival-Academy in Tours in 1995-2001 and “Violin in the Louvre” in 2004 in France, the “Omaggio a Roma” in Italy, the European Limassol Festival, the Sion – Festival, Seiji Ozawa Academy in Switzerland, etc... In 2006 she became a Laureate of Juventus Festival in Cambrai (France). The latest Alena’s success was winning the first prize, gold medal, audience prize and numerous engagements at the Sendai International Music Competition in June, 2007 (Japan).
